Children's Dental Health Month

The Public Health Dept is sponsoring visits to Newport News elementary schools on Friday morning, February 5, 2010.  Hygienists are needed to briefly discuss proper dental hygiene to different classes. Dentists will then perform an exam.  You will be assigned a school.  For more information and to volunteer, contact Amy Rankin 238-9856 or amysueran@charter.net

Dental Hygienists are licensed clinical specialists who work in general oral health practices helping the young and the old to maintain their smiles for a lifetime.  Dental Hygienists can also work as educators, researchers, administrators, managers, preventive program developers, consumer advocates, sales and marketing managers and consultants.

The Mission of the VDHA is to improve the public's total health and advance the art and science of dental hygiene.
